Feintool has entered into a strategic partnership with Automation W+R in the field of automatic quality inspection. The company builds fully automated surface inspection systems. The advantages are obvious: ultra-fast detection keeps pace with the high stroke rates of the Feintool press, making the combined «fineblanking inline inspection» process economically attractive. This collaboration is another important step for Feintool in the direction of Industry 4.0.

In fineblanking Feintool constantly realizes digitalization potential as a technology market leader while keeping its focus on the customer benefit at any time. This primarily involves the profitable networking of people and companies as well as their machines, products and systems. The value chain is constantly being improved with the aim to offer customers maximum quality, whereby Feintool, as a total supplier of press systems, continues to produce state-of-the-art technologies, including those from suppliers.

Against this background, the cooperation with Automation W+R is a logical step. The technologies complement each other ideally. In perfectly coordinated interaction with a fineblanking press, the inspection systems check the quality of the fineblanked precision parts in machine cycles. Specific 2D or 3D inspection heads execute surface checks and flatness tests. Image processing software developed by Automation W+R itself is used for this purpose. Complex algorithms spots damages such as scratches, cracks, dents, bulges or bubbles – even at very fast cycle times.
