«CWIEME is the place where all suppliers and customers for electric motors come together».
Laser cutting, stamping and in-tool lamination core stacks: Feintool showed the latest content of its technology portfolio at CWIEME in Chicago from 17 to 18 September 2019. At the industry meeting for manufacturers of electric motors, generators and transformers, Feintool presented itself as a system partner along the entire process chain relating to electro sheet.
Since 2018, Feintool’s technology portfolio has included laser cutting, stamping and in-tool lamination core stacks. These processes form the basis for manufacturing high-quality products made of electro sheet. Feintool’s state-of-the-art laser systems enable flexible production of prototypes as well as small and medium-sized series. This flexibility makes laser cutting the convincing solution to challenges arising from falling outputs and growing variation. The stamping of electro-steel coils on the other hand is the basis for an almost limitless variety of products – the possible applications range from the drive unit for dental drills to automotive torque motors.
At CWIEME, which took place from 17 to 18 September in Chicago, Feintool focused on its manufacturing processes for sheet metal and packages for electric motors as well as auxiliary and direct drives. At its exhibition booth, Feintool presented, among other things, injection-molded plastic slot insulators for electric motor components as a worthwhile alternative to conventional paper insulation. Feintool uses this process to produce windable components for its customers. The group also used the event to present its expertise in baking, welding and gluing stator and rotor packages. Tom Stevenson, Senior Key Account Manager, sees great potential in participating in CWIEME: “CWIEME is the place where all suppliers and customers for electric motors come together. Participation contributes to comprehensive market support in an environment characterized by future-oriented solutions.”
CWIEME Chicago is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition and conference for coil winding, insulation and electrical manufacturing in North America. It takes place annually at the Donald E. Stephens Exhibition Center in Chicago and is the meeting place for the transformer, electric motor and power generation industries throughout the Americas.
