We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, and optimizing production output.

- Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced and hands-on CNC Lathe Supervisor to oversee daily operations of our CNC lathe department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming (preferably using G-code and CAM software), team leadership, and production efficiency. This role will be responsible for supervising machinists, maintaining workflow, ensuring part quality, and continuously improving productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of CNC lathe machinists across multiple shifts.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan machining operations.
- Program, set up, and troubleshoot CNC lathes as needed using G-code, Fanuc, or similar control systems.
- Optimize CNC programs for efficiency, tool life, and part quality using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
- Monitor and enforce quality control standards in coordination with the QC department.
- Train and mentor operators in machine setup, safe operating procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet delivery timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of production, downtime, tool usage, and machine maintenance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for workflow, setup time reduction, scrap reduction, and tooling.
- Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and corrective maintenance of CNC equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on the shop floor.
- Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Technical degree or certification in machining, CNC, or manufacturing is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of CNC lathe operation experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong hands-on experience in CNC programming (G-code, CAM software).
- Working knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining principles.
- Familiarity with various materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.) and cutting tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a production setting.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and precision in handling machine tools and materials.
- Tolerance for noise, coolant, and shop-floor environmental conditions.
