We aim for networked production

19/03/21

Feintool has entered into a strategic partnership with Automation W+R in the field of automatic quality inspection. The company builds fully automated surface inspection systems. The advantages are obvious: ultra-fast detection keeps pace with the high stroke rates of the Feintool press, making the combined «fineblanking inline inspection» process economically attractive. This collaboration is another important step for Feintool in the direction of Industry 4.0.

As a innovation driver, Feintool constantly expands the horizons of its methods and processes, also within the scope of its partnerships. In fineblanking Feintool constantly realizes digitalization potential as a technology market leader while keeping its focus on the customer benefit at any time. This primarily involves the profitable networking of people and companies as well as their machines, products and systems. The value chain is constantly being improved with the aim to offer customers maximum quality, whereby Feintool, as a total supplier of press systems, continues to produce state-of-the-art technologies, including those from suppliers.

Against this background, the cooperation with Automation W+R is a logical step. The technologies complement each other ideally. In perfectly coordinated interaction with a fineblanking press, the inspection systems check the quality of the fineblanked precision parts in machine cycles. Specific 2D or 3D inspection heads execute surface checks and flatness tests. Image processing software developed by Automation W+R itself is used for this purpose. Complex algorithms spots damages such as scratches, cracks, dents, bulges or bubbles - even at very fast cycle times.

«Our high-precision measuring systems represent an extremely attractive option for process monitoring and optimization for Feintool's customers. As a tandem, we are sure that we will be able to convince many customers in the future of the advantages of combining fineblanking and integrated inline inspection. Topics such as data analytics and Industry 4.0 can thus be taken to a new level.» Dr. Richard Söhnchen, Managing Partner, Autision Group GmbH

«I'm looking forward to working with Automation W+R, whose inspection systems dock almost seamlessly with our fineblanking presses. With the inline integration of the measuring machines, we are taking networked production to a new level. With Automation W+R, we have a partner at our side who can keep up with the pace of our machines and who places the same high demands on quality and processes. This opens up another unique selling point for them and for us on the market. A win-win situation!» Patrick Vonmüllenen, Key Account Manager, Feintool Technology
