About six months ago, our fineblanking plant in Most in the Czech Republic employed 40 workers. There are now almost 50 people who are continuously working at the plant. And things are continuing unabated. For example, Most was able to deliver the first series parts to a customer that is active in the field of gasoline engines. Another customer that manufactures electrical switches and wants to use fineblanked components for the first time received sample parts for final acceptance for mass production; additional parts are in the pipeline. At the same time, promising customer visits on site as well as audits are taking place. In a customer audit with Hitachi, Most landed in the first group with an 80% rating. “For a new plant like Most, this is a very good rating,” says General Manager Juraj Bujnak, who is happy for his team.
According to the planning, Most will also be taking over a complete grinding process for a major customer at the end of the year. This requires a special surface on clutch plates in order to ensure a smooth driving experience when changing speed. A surface like this can only be achieved with a grinding machine. Jena has conducted complex studies and work for a process like this. On this basis, a new, suitable machine will be installed in Most. For capacity reasons, the project was transferred in a very close and productive cooperation from the Fineblanking plant in Jena.
The tool area is also developing positively: although confronted with challenges, the quality of the first sample tools fulfilled the specified requirements and expectations.
Overall, Most is gaining momentum and continues to grow. Depending on the major projects, additional employees will be recruited starting in 2020 onwards.
