Quality, Precision, Reliability – Feintool in Most

Feintool is investing in its long-term growth in Europe. In order to pursue further market opportunities, a production and tool construction plant in the Czech Republic has opened in 2018.
The state-of-the-art plant in Most covers the entire process chain of fineblanking with a focus on high-volume production of fineblanked parts and tool spare elements.

Feintool is an internationally active technology and market leader in the field of fineblanking. This technology is characterized by cost-effectiveness, highest quality and productivity.

As a driver of innovation, we continually expand the horizons of fineblanking and develop intelligent solutions to meet the requirements of our customers: either fineblanking systems with innovative tools or the complete production of precise fineblanked, formed and stamped electro sheet components in high outputs for demanding industrial applications.

The processes used support the trends in the automotive industry. Feintool acts as a project and development partner in the areas of lightweight construction/sustainability, module variations/platforms and alternative drive concepts such as hybrid and electric drives.

The company, founded in 1959 and headquartered in Lyss, Switzerland, owns its production plants and technology centers in Europe, the United States, China and Japan, always making sure to be geographically close to its customers. Outlook

Year 2020

In 2020 Most steps into serial production for all planned projects, including production of spare elements for our plants. Moreover, we are occupied with preparation to smoothly start high running projects, where all the parts will go to automatic transmissions, what we expect to be very challenging. Streamlining processes, focus on effectiveness, quality and deliveries is the key for success in 2020.

The Most plant offers its employees an interesting financial reward, a range of employee benefits, career growth opportunities and work in a clean, very modern and high-tech environment.

Most is gaining momentum

August 2019

About six months ago, our fineblanking plant in Most in the Czech Republic employed 40 workers. There are now almost 50 people who are continuously working at the plant. And things are continuing unabated. For example, Most was able to deliver the first series parts to a customer that is active in the field of gasoline engines. Another customer that manufactures electrical switches and wants to use fineblanked components for the first time received sample parts for final acceptance for mass production; additional parts are in the pipeline. At the same time, promising customer visits on site as well as audits are taking place. In a customer audit with Hitachi, Most landed in the first group with an 80% rating. “For a new plant like Most, this is a very good rating,” says General Manager Juraj Bujnak, who is happy for his team.

According to the planning, Most will also be taking over a complete grinding process for a major customer at the end of the year. This requires a special surface on clutch plates in order to ensure a smooth driving experience when changing speed. A surface like this can only be achieved with a grinding machine. Jena has conducted complex studies and work for a process like this. On this basis, a new, suitable machine will be installed in Most. For capacity reasons, the project was transferred in a very close and productive cooperation from the Fineblanking plant in Jena.

The tool area is also developing positively: although confronted with challenges, the quality of the first sample tools fulfilled the specified requirements and expectations.

Overall, Most is gaining momentum and continues to grow. Depending on the major projects, additional employees will be recruited starting in 2020 onwards.

Ready for takeoff

February 2019

At the new Feintool fineblanking plant in the Czech Republic (Most), the approximately 40 workers currently employed there are stepping it up: Test strokes on one of the two press lines already installed are being carried out, and the secondary processes of double-disc grinding and washing have been put into operation and are currently in the test phase. In the integrated tool making and maintenance department, all the machines have been installed and the first spare tool elements fitted in practice under the direction of the tool making department in Lyss. In parallel to this, the logistics and quality management are being developed and the introduction of SAP is underway. In all these activities, General Manager Juraj Bujnak is grateful for the support from various Feintool plants: “I would like to thank everybody who has trained our team and helped us in the development of our technological and production competence and will continue to do so in future. A particular mention goes to our colleagues at the Feintool plants in Oelsnitz, Jena and Lyss.”

Depending on the project status, from the end of 2019 the plant should employ around 60 people and boast a fleet of eight fineblanking systems. High volume production will launch in early summer 2019 with an order from Hitachi for high precision fineblanked parts, while the tool making department will continue to produce tool elements step by step.
