Taking responsibility for the environment

Certified environmental management systems

Feintool is committed to achieving sustainable improvement in the environment. With our rigorously defined environmental management systems in line with international industrial standard ISO 14001 implemented at almost all of our company locations, we take responsibility for our actions as a machine building enterprise serving the automotive industry. Environmental teams examine the opportunities for optimization at our plants on a regular basis. Through information events and campaigns, Feintool is also raising environmental awareness among its employees in all areas.

Technologies for the future
Feintool not only engages in environmentally friendly production processes – it also ensures that its customers and suppliers are certified to environmental protection standards. What is more, Feintool actively collaborates with customers and partners to engineer new, environmentally friendlier technologies. Such work includes efforts to develop transmission systems that lower fuel consumption,  state-of-the-art lightweight construction components, and downsized, supercharged engines with greater fuel economy. Finally, Feintool is also directly involved in promoting alternative energy concepts by offering, for example, systems for fabricating solar cells.

Active participation in environmental projects

At Feintool, the agenda consistently focuses on current environmental issues. Our engineers investigate the possibilities of electric cars with equal zeal as our customers – the major carmakers and suppliers to the automotive industry.

As of 2010, Feintool is also taking part in the global Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and plans to further expand its commitment to these efforts over the coming years.

Regular employee training and information

Feintool Group has a corporate culture that fosters environmental awareness. All employees are obligated to actively contribute to the company's continuous improvement process (CPI) with the aim of reducing emissions, waste, consumption and, ultimately, costs as well.

All employees receive regular environmental training, as well as a monthly environmental newsletter containing helpful information that promotes environmentally compatible behaviour.
